Cleaning Out Old Hair Products & Reviewing Them!
As I continue to buy new hair products to review for you all, like Ouai, Kristin Ess, and Curlsmith, I had to make some time to clean out the old stuff. In today’s video, I’m cleaning out my old hair products and reviewing them as I go.
Here are a few brief summaries of the products I’m getting rid of.
Shampoos and Conditioners
Tea Tree Lemon Sage
Loved this. However, nothing exceptionally amazing except the smell. Did not feel my hair to be too much thicker, but again, this was used on my very long hair, before my haircut. Went through conditioner so much faster than shampoo, but may still finish out shampoo with alternate conditioner.
Carol’s Daughter Manoi Ora
Did not like this hair product. I felt the combo weighed my hair down and left it feeling unclean.
TGIN Super Moisture + Green Tea Leave-in
Did not like this on my hair. However, this brand works great for Omar’s hair. It’s possible I’m just not the ideal consumer here with straight hair. I would suggest for curly hair types.
Redken 25 Benefits One United
One of the best leave in conditioners on the market. There’s nothing more than droplets left in my bottle and I absolutely plan to buy again in the future. It’s multi-beneficial which makes it more than worthwhile of a purchase.
Keracolor Purify Plus Lite
Forgot I owned this but never got around to using much of. Claims to be good for protecting hair & color against hard minerals and chlorine. I suggest probably great for swimmers or households with hard water (like our apartment in the city!)
Living Proof Frizz Free
LOVE this mask. Ideal for coarse hair & very nourishing. Protects against frizz in the summer time.
Wella Invigo Brilliance
OK hair product. Made for coarse hair and protect hair color while adding shine.
IGK First Class
Charcoal detoxing dry shampoo. I squeezed every last drop out of the bottle. In my top 3 favorite dry shampoos of all time. No residue and clean look and feel.
Old sample from BirchBox that I found. Paste that is applied with fingers to scalp. Great oil absorption and volume but did not like the application.
Texture & Volume
Paul Mitchell Extra Body Sculpting Foam
OK blow dry mousse. Does not provide that much volume but makes for a great blow dry base product.
Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray + Texture Cream
Perhaps this would be better on hair with more texture than mine. Bought for my trip to Jamaica in 2019 and used on the beach. Very sticky and not ideal for everyday use.
Never Should’ve Owned
Bought solely to make a streak of my niece’s hair purple and didn’t even work. I want this thing FAR out of my possession. Purchased long before my cosmetology license and now products like this make me pull my hair out (while trying to pull it out of my clients’ hair).
John Frieda Lightening Spray
ONLY purchased this to lighten body hair on arms. Worked really well in that aspect. Would never use on hair. Finally getting rid of since I haven’t touched in years.
