Decorating My Home for Christmas
As I touched on my fall décor check in, this year has been a a lot of fun decorating since its my first year in my home. If anything, my home is the place I’ve been the most this year (lol). During lockdown days while I was out of work, I used a lot of my time painting, decorating, and situating in each room. Now as the holidays roll in, I’ve had a lot of pleasure in getting out my seasonal touches.
For my Christmas décor in my living room (the only room I really seasonally change), I chose to stick to creams, golds, and greens and avoid traditional reds. Since my living room is already accented with orange, I felt red would be overbearing and I wanted a cozy but chic feeling.
My favorite part of my décor was the skinny pre-lit wreath on my front door and 3-footer pre-lit tree in my bay window. From the outside they coordinate well and are just enough lights without being overbearing and tacky.
I chose a white accent to the room in cozy materals like knitted stickings, plush throw blanket, and fur tree skirt under the christmas tree, that oversees the whole space.
And lastly, the gold accents that tie together throughout the room give it a splash of glam. I bought this adorable dining décor set from Big Lots (center piece here). And the whole collection of items they had was adorable. To coordinate the gold across the room I found artificial flowers from my local Dollar tree and created an assortment with tiny artificial pine cones to fill the vase. (Hard to link flowers as the Dollar Tree’s website doesn’t coordinate with the store much; see below for similar links).
How does this relate to your holiday décor? I love new inspo, send me pictures!
